Liverpool have announced that they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of defender Alvaro Arbeloa.
A statement on the club's official website revealed the Spaniard's move is subject to him completing a medical with the Reds expected to pocket £3.5 million from his sale.
"We have agreed a fee with Real Madrid for the transfer of the player, subject to him completing a medical", said a club spokesman.
