Liverpool have added another German youngster to their Academy ranks with the signing of 16-year-old Stephen Sama from Borussia Dortmund.
The Reds moved to secure the player's signature until June 2012 before the Bundesliga outfit could offer him a professional contract.
Sama is the second player to join the youth set-up, following in the footsteps of fellow defender Christopher Buchtmann.
Despite this landmark move for the youngster, Dortmund's youth director Peter Wazinski believes Sama is a less exciting prospect than Buchtmann.
"This time they did not look closely enough," he said.
"Stephen was already a substitute last season, unlike Christopher Buchtmann was when he joined them.
"In terms of Stephen Sama, the transfer does not hurt us in any way, except that there is always a better moment to join another club than in the middle of pre-season."
