Serie A outfit Napoli have revealed that they are in talks with Liverpool over the sale of Andrea Dossena.
The Italian full-back arrived at Anfield last summer for £7 million but failed to adapt to the English league, making just 12 starts, and is believed to be keen on a return to his homeland.
Despite previously being linked with a move to Juventus, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis had held talks with Reds boss Rafael Benitez and insisted that talks were ongoing.
"I've personally spoken with Rafa Benitez. The negotiation is ongoing", he said.
Reports in Italy claim that any final deal is being delayed due to a disagreement on the sale price for the defender, with Liverpool expected to hold out for £6 million in order to recoup most of the money paid for him from Udinese.
