Brendan Rodgers expecting further arrivals at Liverpool FC this month

Brendan Rodgers is still hopeful Liverpool will make new additions in the transfer window.

Daniel Sturridge has enjoyed an impressive start to life at Anfield following his £12 million move from Chelsea earlier this month and could be joined by Inter Milan attacker Philippe Coutinho, who has this week been the subject of an £8 million bid from the Reds.

But Liverpool have not abandoned hope of securing the return of Thomas Ince, 18 months after he was allowed to leave the club for Blackpool, despite the Championship club's haggling over additional payments, due to reduced fee incurred by the Merseysiders' sell-on clause.

And while Rodgers remains coy on specific targets, he is optimistic that further business can be concluded before the window shuts in less than a week's time.

He said: "We hope to do some business between now and the end of the month. The owners have been brilliant and supporting.

"We know we still need one or two additions more. The club is doing everything it possible can to assist me in that. If we can, great. If not, we'll have to review it again in the summer.

"We've got a young player who'll go out on loan to get some experience but apart from that I don't expect people [leaving and] one or two maybe to come in."
