Cardiff City have confirmed their interest in signing Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy.
The veteran attacker's future at Anfield remains uncertain with new manager Brendan Rodgers threatening to ring the changes following his appointment earlier this month.
Bellamy's return to Liverpool last summer was hailed a moderate success as he recorded nine goals in 32 appearances in a run which saw him lift the Carling Cup, ironically against Cardiff.
He spent the 2010-11 campaign on loan in the Welsh capital and Bluebirds chief executive Alan Whiteley has admitted that they would welcome the Welshman rejoining his home town club.
He said: "We would love to have Craig back.
"But he is a Liverpool player and until Liverpool and Craig decide what they are going to do, there are conversations that we can't even have at the moment.
"We don't know how it is going to pan out and it is for Craig and Liverpool to decide what they are going to do first.
"But if Craig decides he is going to leave Liverpool and Liverpool are prepared to let him go, then clearly we'd love to talk to him."
