Pepe Reina has expressed his delight at Brendan Rodgers' arrival as Liverpool manager.
Tomorrow marks a week since the Ulsterman was appointed Kenny Dalglish's successor in the Anfield dugout, amid widespread encouragement on both sides of the touchline.
Reina has added his voice to the welcoming, and cited the passing style Rodgers' Swansea City side demonstrated during last season's Premier League as a familiar trait for the Reds.
But the goalkeeper, who is currently preparing for this summer's European Championships with reigning champions Spain, has also warned that standards must be raised next term.
"His team has played well this year with an ethos that I share and Liverpool is also known to play the passing game but it is easier said than done," he told El Pais.
"Rodgers is welcomed and I am at his disposal.
"We have won a trophy this year but it is clear that in recent seasons we should have done better."
