Kenny Dalglish believes Liverpool must learn from their mistakes against Manchester City.
Last night's 3-0 defeat at the Etihad Stadium was the first of a triology of games between the clubs, with the opening leg of their Carling Cup semi-final taking place in just six days' time.
Dalglish believes that his side must use the reversal at the hands of the league leaders to their advantage and find their clinical edge in front of goal ahead of next week's first leg.
He said: "I think it's a good learning opportunity for us.
"It only reflects the importance of being clinical. I think they were clinical.
"I think the only time they came close apart from that was when [Adam] Johnson hit the post.
"We've just got to learn our lessons and if we want to get to where everyone wants to take the club then we've got to be clinical, and I don't think we were clinical today."
