Kenny Dalglish says Luis Suarez is 'very grateful' for the support he has received from Liverpool following his eight-game charge by the Football Association.

The striker was found guilty on Tuesday of abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra, which has prompted a staunch defence from both the Reds and the Uruguayan's team mates.

Liverpool's entire squad donned t-shirts with Suarez's image ahead of Wednesday night's draw at Wigan and Dalglish says that the hit man was touched by the club's solidarity behind him.

He said: "He was quite emotional and very grateful.

"It is never a disappointment when your team-mates and the people you work for give you their undivided support. And for me that is the least he deserves.

"The club has issued a statement, the players have made their statement both visually and verbally. It is best to wait and see."
