Chelsea have dismissed suggestions that Fernando Torres could rejoin Liverpool.
Torres, 27, has netted just five times since breaking the British transfer record in January which has led to intense speculation that his future could lie away from West London.
Reports claimed that the Spain international could be available in January with the Blues allegedly willing to sell the striker for less than half of his £50million valuation.
A potential return to Anfield had been suggested with Torres becoming a regular fixture on the Chelsea substitutes bench while his profligate former club are in need of a finisher.
But Andre Villas-Boas has refuted claims that he will allow the hit man to leave Stamford Bridge at any price and believes that he will prove the doubters wrong.
"It's not true...he is not available at any price, now or in the summer," he said.
"I think Fernando is ready mentally. Everybody wants to be involved for more time and now Fernando is pushing for place with Didier Drogba, who is on a good run at the moment.
"But we always count on our players and we are sure that when Fernando is involved he will respond because of the quality and talent he has.
"He will be back sooner or later but we have to make the best decisions."
Kenny Dalglish refused to comment on the potential of recalling Torres after his acrimonious exit from Merseyside 11 months ago but admitted that he does have the option to strengthen.
He said: "We don't speculate on anybody - either our own players or somebody else's players.
"It doesn't matter what we say, there is going to be speculation in the newspapers - but we won't be here to answer every question that's in newspapers.
"We'll do our business the way we've been brought up to do our business, and that's privately behind closed doors.
"We have the option to add if we want to, but we also have another option that we don't have to."
