Tottenham set to end Joe Cole's Liverpool FC nightmare

Joe Cole looks set to bring his Liverpool career to an end with a £3million move to Tottenham.

The 29-year-old will reportedly be reunited with Harry Redknapp as he looks to revive his dwindling career after netting just three times in 32 appearances in all competitions.

Premier League newcomers Queens Park Rangers had mulled over a move for the playmaker in spite of a campaign ravaged by inconsistency and injury, following his fanfare arrival as the Reds' marquee signing last summer.

But Tottenham are understood to have acted swiftly in anticipation of Cole's return to his native London following a difficult 12 months on Merseyside which has seen his stock plummet alarmingly since leaving Chelsea.

Reports emanating from London suggest that he will undergo a medical in the coming days to finalise a return to the capital, which has heightened speculation that Spurs are preparing for life after Luka Modric, with the highly-rated midfielder tipped to join Manchester United.
