Danny Wilson has attempted to ease Liverpool's left-back problems by offering to play in any position required for Roy Hodgson.
Last week the 18-year-old completed his move from Rangers on an initial £2million deal following an impressive debut season which saw him lift both the SPL title and the Scottish League Cup.
Wilson, who came to prominence as a centre-back during his time at Ibrox, was also crowned Scottish PFA Young Player of the Year and the Scottish Football Writers' Young Player of the Year.
Now, the versatile youngster is hoping to cement his place in Hodgson's plans and has offered to alleviate the problem his new manager faces with Emiliano Insua's protracted move to Fiorentina in addition to Fabio Aurelio's departure leaving Liverpool with no first choice left-back.
He said: "Last season was my debut season but coming here was a big step up and I understand that. The style of football is a bit different but at the end of the day it's just a game of football.
"I just want to try to do the best I can in my first season here and not try to set any targets in terms of games to play. If I'm selected for games then great but if not I just need to try that bit harder to push myself.
"Other than that I'm just looking to make a good start and force my way into the manager's plans at least.
"I've played at full back but I wouldn't say that it's my best position. If needs be I can play there and anywhere that the manager picks me.
"My preferred position is centre-back but if need be I'll play left-back, right-back, goalkeeper, wherever."
But despite making the prestigious switch at a tender age, Wilson is under no illusion about the challenges that lie ahead of him at Anfield despite gaining valuable experience on the big stage with Rangers last season.
"I played two games in the Champions League which was something I wasn't expecting going into last season so I do have that little bit of experience behind me but I've still got a lot to learn and hopefully I can do that over the coming months," he added.
