Philippe Coutinho has today become Liverpool's second signing of the January transfer window.
The Brazilian midfielder has signed a long-term deal with the Reds after they agreed a deal, believed to stand in the region of £8.5 million, with Inter Milan earlier this week.
Coutinho, who will wear the number 10 shirt at Anfield, joined the ranks at the San Siro in summer 2010, ironically during the short-lived tenure of former Kop boss Rafael Benitez.
Southampton had threatened to derail Liverpool's pursuit of the 20-year-old as their new manager Mauricio Pochettino had worked with him during a loan spell at Espanyol at the end of last season.
But Coutinho has opted to join the ranks on Merseyside, following Daniel Sturridge's capture earlier this month, and admits he is under no illusions of the standards that will be required from him.
"I'm feeling very happy, it's a very important step in my career and I'm expecting to come here and play good football to give my contribution on the pitch.
"Liverpool is a great club with great players. We've always heard about Liverpool's history in Brazil.
"They are the club that have been interested in me and that have showed this interest so I know they believe in me and my football."
