Everton Tigers’ junior teams are celebrating their most successful season ever as they remain in the hunt for silverware.
The 2009-10 season has already been the best campaign for Everton Tigers’ boys in three years of competition even before they face the final rounds of their respective competitions.
The under 16 squad has already come out on top of England Basketball’s North West Conference, with only one defeat in the whole league programme.
This has qualified them for the national play-off competition, where they will face Durham Wildcats in the first round.
The under 13 team could win their league on Saturday as they face Invaders in the final of the Warrington Central Venue League at Warrington Ball Hall.
Everton Tigers U11s rounded off a successful season in their category of the same division, finishing runners up overall.
Henry Mooney, director of basketball at Everton Tigers, said the successful season showed the talent and effort within all the squads.
He said: “The success we’ve had reflects the work they have put in. We’ve got talent at all age groups and I’m sure some of them will make the jump to play for the Tigers in the BBL one day.
