David Moyes has confirmed Everton suffered a double injury blow in their win over Brighton.
Iliman Ndiaye’s first-half penalty secured back-to-back victories that ensured Moyes’ 700th game as a Premier League manager ended on a fitting note.
But the Blues were dealt setbacks en route to maximum points at the Amex Stadium with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Orel Mangala both limping out.
Calvert-Lewin made way with a suspected hamstring issue while Mangala’s withdrawal saw the visitors seeing out the encounter with 10 men on the pitch.
And Moyes conceded post-match that the pair’s setbacks could impact on his plans for reinforcements during the remainder of the January transfer window.
He said: “They don’t look great, either of them.
“But the medical team have told me to let you know they’ll get assessed first and then we’ll make a decision.
“I think they seem to think they’re not the best either of them at the moment.
“I feel as if, depending on what comes back from their assessment, I’ll decide a little bit more to whether we’re having to go and do something [in the market] which we may have to do from what we’ve seen.”
