David Moyes has opened up on his ambitions in this summer's transfer market.
The Everton boss revealed a high quality goal scorer is on the top of his shopping list, but was mindful of how an inflated transfer market could limit his options.
He said: "I don't need to sell before I buy and I'm not madly saying we need to buy."
"I'd like to get a top striker in, but how much do they cost? That would be the problem."
Moyes also hinted that a lot of his activity would go towards bolstering the squad by operating in the "lower end of the market", something he has been able to do with exceptional skill, acquiring talents such as Tim Cahill and Joleon Lescott from lower leagues.
"I don't think it will be a busy one – the biggest thing is we keep the players we have got at the club."
"Sure I'll try and get some players in and that'll be at the lower end of the market to get those players in. Hopefully add one or two additions, then I'll be looking forward to next season."
Everton are reported to have already secured the signature of Portuguese youngster Joao Silva and have been linked to a list of striking options including Carlton Cole and former Liverpool forward Robbie Keane.
