Everton have confirmed that their pre-season tour will take them just about as far away from Finch Farm as is possible with a three week tour of Australia.
The Blues will play three games on the tour against Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Heart and Sydney FC.
Everton's own Aussie Tim Cahill will be representing his country but may well meet up with the squad down under, should the Socceroos fail to negotiate a passage through the group stages.
Cahill, speaking to Evertonfc.com was pleased that Toffees in Australia will get a rare chance to see their heroes in the flesh.
He said: “I think it’s fantastic for Australian football and also Everton because Australia’s got a massive following of Everton supporters."
"They’re a proud following and I think for a Premier League team like Everton to grace the shores of Australia is absolutely massive."
The travelling Everton squad will be greatly weakened thanks to the growing number of international stars appearing at this summer's world cup.
But David Moyes is looking forward to putting the remaining part of his squad through their paces in what he feels will be a useful location.
He said: "The facilities there are first-class and that’s important to us because the training and the games will be a good part of our pre-season preparations"
“Thanks to Tim Cahill, the Aussies know all about Everton and I am sure we’ll get a typically warm Australian welcome.”
An Everton source said that the club will now be looking into arranging a club ran travel package for fans wishing to join the players down under.
