Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini was taken to hospital on Saturday after injuring his ankle in the Merseyside Derby against Liverpool.
The Beligian was stretchered off in the first half after a clash with Liverpool defender Sotirios Kyriakos which resulted in the Greek being sent-off.
Fellaini underwent an immediate x-ray at Anfield which showed no serious damage; however he was then transferred to hospital where further investigations took place.
Everton boss David Moyes was pleased the scan was clear, as Fellaini has been playing a vital role in the Everton engine room in recent weeks.
"He has been taken to hospital for a scan, fortunately the x-ray (at Anfield) was clear.”
The Everton boss agreed that the foul by Kyrgiakos which injured Fellaini warranted a red card. He also had no complaints over Steven Pienaar's late dismissal.
"I thought the first one was a sending off," he declared.
"He was off the ground and it was two-footed. It was right in front of me."
