Everton youngster Jack Rodwell is set to win his first England U-21 cap after being called up to face France at the end of the month.
The midfielder, aged only 18, will link up with Stuart Pearce's side next week for the match.
He is quickly climbing the international ladder though having already represented England under-16's, 17's and 18's.
Rodwell scored his first senior goal for Everton in the FA Cup quarter-final victory over Aston Villa last month and recently put pen to paper on a new long-term contract with the Toffees.
He also has the accolade of being the youngest player to represent Everton in Europe after coming on as a substitute in last season's UEFA Cup clash with Dutch side AZ Alkmaar at the age of 16 years and 284 days.
England's clash against France takes place at Nottingham Forest's City Ground on 31 March.
The Under-21 squad also travel to Norway for a friendly on 27 March, though Rodwell won't be involved in that game having already being called up to the England's Under-19 squad for a friendly with the Czech Republic on 25 March.
Rodwell will still join the younger party though before linking up with the older age group ahead of the clash with the French.
The youngester will be eager to make an impact in a bid to secure a place in the squad for this summer's European Under-21 Championships in Sweden.
