Steven Naismith admits he is excited about reuniting with Nikica Jelavic at Everton.
The 25-year-old arrived at Goodison Park on a free transfer last week and is expected to line up alongside his former Rangers striker partner in the Blues front line.
But despite being unveiled as an Everton player, Naismith's move south of the border has yet to be granted international clearance following the Ibrox club's impending liquidation.
His former Gers team mates Steven Whittaker, Jamie Ness and Kyle Lafferty who have also secured transfers to other clubs as free agents face the same period of uncertainty.
Charles Green, who plans to reform Rangers as a new company, intends to seek compensation by claiming that the breakaway players are in breach of their contract.
Everton, however, remain confident that their latest capture will be granted clearance by the time they play their Premier League opener with Manchester United on August 20.
And Naismith admits he is relishing the prospect of rekindling his partnership with Jelavic.
He said: "I had a great 18 months with Jelavic at Rangers.
"He moved down here and I think a lot of people doubted whether he could hack it in the Premier League, and he showed them that he's going to be a world class striker, if not there at the moment.
"It'll great to play alongside him [again] plus the captain's got a wealth of experience plus Tim Cahill, guys like that you just see as great quality and for me to have the chance to play with [them] they're going to inevitably make me a better player."
