Everton FC set to complete Steven Naismith signing this week

Everton are expected to complete the capture of Steven Naismith later this week.

The attacker will join the Blues on a free transfer after declaring himself out-of-contract following Rangers' recent liquidation, which he believes makes his pre-existing contract null and void.

Naismith has been on the radar of several of Premier League clubs and is set to become the second former Rangers player to head south of the border following the Ibrox outfit's financial problems, after defender Steven Whittaker joined Norwich City last weekend.

Talks are ongoing over a deal for the 25-year-old, who will be reunited at Goodison Park with former partner in crime Nikica Jelavic but a deal looks hopeful of being finalised in the coming days.
