Everton have confirmed that Tony Hibbert will celebrate his testimonial this summer.

The veteran defender has become a mainstay of David Moyes' side and will be rewarded for his decade-long service with a pre-season friendly against AEK Athens on August 8.

Huyton-born Hibbert graduated to the Blues' senior ranks following a successful spell in the youth set-up, which saw him lift the 1998 FA Youth Cup, and has gone on to make 282 appearances since his debut in a 2-0 win over West Ham United in March 2001.

The Wednesday night meeting with the Greek side at Goodison Park is the first since they faced off in the group stages of the Europa League during the 2009/10 season.

"As usual EFC are a total let down with choice of AEK. Other teams would choose a top team. No wonder we have poor starts to seasons" Neil, Chester around 1 year ago
