Leicester City have shelved their plans to take Everton striker Apostolos Vellios on loan.
The striker was linked with a move to the King Power Stadium with the Foxes lacking fire power options due to having four strikers currently ruled out of action through injury and suspension.
Nigel Pearson had considered a move for Vellios, whose chances of pushing for a starting role at Goodison Park have been dampened further by Nikica Jelavic's arrival from Rangers last month.
The resurgent form of both Victor Anichebe and the on-loan Denis Stracqualursi has also blocked his path, which had offered the Championship outfit a glimmer of hope in securing his services.
But Leicester have called off their plans after former Blues striker Jermaine Beckford, who arrived at the start of the season, won his appeal against his dismissal against Brighton last weekend.
