Everton skipper Phil Neville has signed a two year contract extension which will keep him at Goodison until 2013.
The experienced defender announced news of his new deal in less than ideal circumstances after the Blues' 0-1 home defeat to QPR at the weekend.
Speaking via the Club's official website, Neville said he was proud to be committing to the club for a further two years.
He said: "I feel really proud and this club has never let me down.
"It's shown faith in me again and for the next two years I'm going to give my all for this football club.
"That's what I've done for the last six years and that's what I'll continue to do.
"For the next two years I'm going to give my all.
"I love playing for Everton. I love the spirit in the club, I love the togetherness, and that's going to continue."
Neville, seen by his peers as an on-the-field leader, has enjoyed a renaissance in his career since leaving Manchester United for Everton in 2005.
The versatile 34-year-old's decision to commit to the club will be seen as a show of confidence in the David Moyes project which looks to be headed for it's most precarious period yet.
The former England international was handed the captain's armband by Moyes in 2007 after the departure of veteran Scottish defender David Weir.
Everton rebuffed two approaches for Neville by Spurs last year after Harry Redknapp earmarked him as the experienced "winner" his team needed.
The deal will see Neville playing for the club until the age of 36 but the six-time Premier League winner has refused to put a limit on his time left in the game saying that he intends to play past that landmark.
