Everton FC: Yobo reveals clubs are working on a deal

Joseph Yobo has revealed that Everton and Fenerbahce are working on a deal to secure his permanent transfer to Turkey.

The Nigerian centre half is valued at around £5m by Everton but the Turkish champions are thought to want their man at half that price.

After some doubt as to whether a deal could be struck at all between the two clubs, Yobo insisted there was movement in the talks and that he didn't want a return to Merseyside, where a run in the first team would be unlikely.

He said: "My future is with Fenerbahce.

"I do not want to return to Everton because I have seen the difference in playing in a competitive team on a regular basis and that has helped me to improve.

"My bosses in Turkey are happy with the way I have played and they want me to remain with them and we are just working on the process that would make Everton to release me permanently to Fenerbahce."

The money from that switch could free up Everton's movement in the transfer window, which this year has been limited due to a lack of finances.

Despite Moyes badly needing the cash to strengthen his squad, Everton are likely to dig in their heels over the Yobo transfer fee with the 30-year-old being one of their most valuable surplus players.

It is vital that we hold out for at least 4.5m. Our own plans rely upon this and sale of the Yak.
