Everton will face last season's Premier League opponents Birmingham City in a pre season warm up game, the clubs have announced.
The relegated Midlands side will welcome David Moyes' side to St Andrews on July 30th, a week before beginning their bid for a return to the top flight.
Moyes has been known for pencilling in a tough friendly before the start of the league proper, as he did with a trip to newly promoted Norwich City last year.
The Blues' boss will be hoping that this is the year his side can get the good start they so badly need in order to keep in the running for European football.
