Everton FC stopper Turkey bound

Joseph Yobo looks set to snub a loan move to West Ham in favour of a transfer deadline day switch to Fenerbahce.

The Nigerian has been keenly pursued by the Hammers since dropping down the Goodison Park pecking order.

But the Turkish giants looks to have hi-jacked the deal with a loan offer vastly superior to West Ham's in terms of the players personal terms

The form and fitness of defenders such as Sylvain Distin, Phil Jagielka and John Heitinga has meant Yobo's opportunities have been limited this season.

Avram Grant wanted to take the player on a one-year loan deal to sure up a leaky defence with Yobo coming in to partner Matthew Upson in defence.

However, as was the case in their pursuit of Everton's other Nigerian, Yakubu, the Hammers look set to be disappointed with Yobo all but confirmed as Fenerbahce's latest addition.
