Everton's Carling Cup clash with Huddersfield sees the return of two ex-Blues in Gary Naysmith and Peter Clarke.
And first team elder statesman Leon Osman said he's looking forward to welcoming back his former colleagues, in particular Clarke who he came through the Goodison youth system with.
Now the Terriers skipper, Clarke made his Everton debut at the age of 18 and went on to appear 14 times for the Blues.
Osman said he still posses the same characteristics which made him a popular youngster with the Goodison faithful.
He said: "Peter's had a good career and it's testament to the sort of character he is.
"He has a never-say-die type of character and that shows with his performances on the pitch.
"We were in the youth team together so Wednesday is a game I am looking forward to."
Clarke too said he is looking forward to returning to Goodison, which he says is still a special place.
He said: "It will be my first return to Everton, and the club has a special place in my life because it was where I started out.
"The playing roster has changed a fair bit, but a lot of the backroom staff are still in place, and it will be good to catch up.
"The fans were good to me as well, and I'm sure Gary will get a great reception, because he gave the club seven years of very good service.
"Goodison is a historic ground, and the atmosphere is good for both players and supporters."
Everton will be looking to avoid a dreaded first hurdle exit having not played in this round of the competition for 5 years due to their European success.
