Everton FC are allegedly pondering a move for Newcastle United's wantaway midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa.

The Frenchman has been tipped to leave St James' Park following comments by manager Alan Pardew, who has questioned his commitment.

Blues boss Roberto Martinez has confirmed that he is on the lookout for a winger, and Ben Arfa has emerged as one of his top targets, according to the Shields Gazette.

Ben Arfa has been forced to train away from the Newcastle first-team this summer after falling out of favour at the club.

Meanwhile, Everton have reportedly won the race to sign Chelsea youngster Christian Atsu, who is on his way to Goodison Park on a season-long loan.

Everton kick off their new Premier League campaign away to Premier League newcomers Leicester City on 16th August.
