Tony Dodson is considering hanging up his gloves after his stoppage defeat at the hands of Commonwealth champion Ovill McKenzie.
The former British super-middleweight champion hit the canvas in the third round and after bravely rising to his feet, referee Victor Loughlin called it a day for the Liverpool fighter.
After a valiant showing in last years Prizefighter, Dodson was rebuilding his career in the light-heavyweight division after defeating Darren Stubbs in October to claim the IBO light-heavyweight title.
Dodson still holds the IBO championship but despite this he is still unsure on what's next for him as he received his seventh loss of his career to McKenzie.
Other high profile opportunities may slip away from Dodson, he was quoted saying: " I don't think I've got many options to be fair, at this present time i don't think i will fight again. I've been a top fighter for a long time so where do i go from here? I don't want to be a Central Area or British Masters title fighter."
Tony Dodson was pretty honest in his assessment of his attempt to dethrone McKenzie at the Bowler's Exhibition Centre in Manchester, he was quoted on how he was surprised with the skill set and size of Ovill McKenzie, "It looked like a boy against a man in there, he (McKenzie) is massive, absolutely huge."
Dodson went on to say: "He was quicker than I expected and more accurate. The punches didn't really hurt but the speed shocked me."
What ever Tony decides to do with his future I'd like to wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
