Wladimir Klitschko’s withdrawal from the heavyweight title clash with Dereck Chisora clears the path for Tyson Fury.
The BBBofC are expected to recommend that Del Boy defend his British title against the 6’ 9” Mancunian, who is the mandatory challenger.
It could all take place on the 21st May - on the undercard to Nathan Cleverly’s WBO title tilt against Juergen Braehmer at Wembley.
Chisora, who is also Commonwealth champion, was due to fight for the IBF and WBO titles in Mannheim, Germany on the 30th April.
But the Ukrainian claims he has not recovered from the abdominal injury that saw him pull out of the bout in December.
Fury claimed the Finchley fighter was running from him after he beat Marcelo Luiz Nascimento inside five rounds at Wembley in February.
He was seemingly unhappy that Chisora did not relinquish his titles when he announced a fight with Wladimir Klitschko.
Del Boy scoffed at the 22-year-old’s remarks, but welcomed a fight with the highly-regarded young heavyweight.
Howvever, Fury has reignited their war-of-words.
He said: “He’s running scared, he knows I’m a better fighter than him and is scared of losing.
“If it was me in his position, I would have no hesitation in giving up my British and Commonwealth titles – it’s a joke.
“Chisora is a bum, he’s no good – he’d get annihilated against Klitschko.
“I’ve got more chance of winning the lottery than he has on winning that one.”
