AFC Liverpool created history by becoming the first ever team to win the Vodkat !st Division Trophy twice with successive wins in 2009 and 2010.
Losing 1-0 early to a spirited Cheadle side in a hard fought 1st half the Liverpool team backed again by their marvellous noisy following began to impose themselves gradually as the half ended.
They were rewarded for their attacking display early in the 2nd half when forward Andy Olsen bundled the ball home for the equaliser from close range following a free kick.
It didn't take long for AFC Liverpool to justly go in front when the same player met another cross with a firm header that flew past the Cheadle keeper making it five goals in five matches for the in form striker following his return to the club.
More goals could have followed but this was enough to secure victory despite some nervous last few minutes as the opposition tried to come back.
Although the whole of the team performed well on the night special mentions must go Olsen for his 2 goals, Karl Gornell for his skillful performance throughout the game and captain Liam Coyne for dominant defensive display at the heart of the defence
This was manager Paul Moore's sixth game in charge and his record of five wins and a draw makes impressive reading; on this form the end of the season will come to early for AFC Liverpool who will look to use this cup success as a springboard for a promotion push next season.
It must be noted that this is only the club's second season and already they have two cup successes which can't be a bad record to have.
