Liverpool gangster Curtis Warren ordered to repay £118 million

Liverpool drugs baron Curtis "Cocky" Warren has been ordered to repay £118m in drug cash by authorities in Jersey.

Toxteth-born Warren, 46, is currently serving a 13-year prison term after being found guilty of plotting to smuggle £1m-worth of cannabis into the island.

The Jersey government began a proceeds of crime application against him in a court hearing in April, but Warren's solicitor Keith Dyson has said the drugs baron will fight the case all the way.

Mr Dyson confirmed authorities are seeking compensation for a large sum of money, in excess of £100m, which it is claimed Warren received as a result of international drug deals.

Warren has appealed against his conviction and a decision is due on 5 May.

He claims that police have been biased against him, and said they had been denied "crucial" witnesses during his trial.

Warren was once Interpol's most wanted drug dealer, and is the only known dealer to have appeared on the Sunday Times' Rich List.

He was jailed last December after being found guilty at Jersey's Royal Court of conspiring to import drugs.

During his trial, the court heard how he planned to flood the island with drugs brought from Amsterdam but was foiled by a police operation.
