A female teacher at a top private school plied pupils with booze before making love to a 16-year-old boy, a court heard today (MON).

Classics teacher Hannah McIntyre, 25, admits buying cider for three boys who visited her home but denies having sex with a sixth-former.

Instead, she claims the boy forced his way into her bedroom and faked noises of sexual gratification for the entertainment of two pals listening downstairs.

Blonde Miss McIntyre, appeared in the dock at Liverpool Court, today (MON) dressed entirely in black.

She pleads 'Not Guilty' to a charge of having sexual activity with a child while in a position of trust contrary to section 16 of the Sexual Offences Act.

In January 2009, after the allegations surfaced, she was suspended from her trainee post at of Merchant Taylors' Boys School in Crosby, Merseyside.

Mr Gerald Baxter prosecuting said: "The child was sixteen years of age when the alleged offence was committed.

"The defendant was appointed to her position at the school in December 2007. 'Child X' was not in her class but his friend 'Child Y', was and occasionally sat in on her lessons."

Mr Baxter told the court that the alleged sex act took place when the Child X called at Miss McIntyre's home with two friends between 8pm and 10 pm on 25th January 2008

Added Mr Baxter: "It is alleged that the boys knocked at the defendant's door and she invited them in.

"The defendant was drinking wine and they sat and talked before going to a nearby off-licence.

"There she bought cider for the boys and more wine for herself.

"On returning to the house Child Y is said to have dared Child X to kiss the defendant, betting him twenty pounds.

"He then dared the defendant to kiss Child X which she did. Child X described the kiss as 'very passionate'."

Mr Baxter told the court that Child X had drunk around a litre of cider, and as it was becoming late it was decided that the boys would stay the night at Miss McIntyre's home in Winstanley Road, Waterloo.

Two of his friends slept on the floor in the living area, while Child X went upstairs and got into bed with Miss McIntyre.

Mr Baxter said: "They then had sexual intercourse together.

"He does not clearly remember what happened, but remembers removing the defendant's knickers before lying on top of her, when they had sex."

Mr Baxter said that Child X had woken in the early hours of the morning and left the house with his two friends.

Immediately after the incident Miss McIntyre reported the boys' visit to the school's headmaster who asked his deputy, Mr Blower, to investigate.

He said Miss McIntyre admitted purchasing alcohol for the boys but claimed she was intimidated and hoped that if she complied they would leave her home, which they had entered without invitation.

The schoolboys at first claimed that no sexual activity had taken place, but in a conversation with his mother in December 2008 Child X had said he had slept with the teacher.

When Miss McIntyre was arrested and interviewed by police, she claimed Child X had entered her room forcefully and had sat on her bed, making loud sexual noises to impress and amuse his friends.

She claims to have told the boy to "F**k off!" and said the boys left soon afterwards.

A Section 39 order is in place banning the identification of any young person involved in the case.

The hearing will resume on Tuesday morning at 11am and the trial is expected to end on Thursday.

'Merchant Taylors', which was founded in 1620, has 630 pupils, including 150 sixth-formers and annual fees are £8424. Its motto is "Concordia Parve Res Crescunt", which means "Small Things Grow in Harmony".

With 99 per cent of pupils taking GCSEs gaining five A-C results, it one of the best-performing schools in the area.
