Horrified Aussie twin sisters discovered their younger brother had been killed in a shocking car smash, after checking Facebook for Birthday messages.
Angela and Maryanne Vourlis were celebrating turning 20 on Sunday when they headed to Facebook, expecting Happy Birthday wishes from friends.
Instead, the pair were horrified to find hundreds of messages of condolence, and tributes to their 17-year-old brother which read, 'RIP Bobby'.
They then telephoned their mother in Sydney, who knew nothing of the tragedy, and contacted police who confirmed the family's worst fears.
Devestated Angela said: "I didn't get it. All these people were writing, 'RIP Chris Naylor' and 'RIP Bobby'. I just thought 'What's going on?'
"I kept ringing and messaging but couldn't get on to him. So I rang Mum and said: ‘Chris Naylor must have died - I just read it on Facebook.
"But where's Bobby? People are writing about Bobby too.
"My mum just replied, 'Bobby was with Chris Naylor last night'."
Detectives explained that the delay in contacting Bobby's family had been caused because they could not identify the teenager's body.
Police later confirmed that the teen had been killed alongside friends Chris Naylor, 19, and Kelsie Coleman, 15, when the 19-year-old driver Mr Naylor lost control in heavy rain.
Investigators established that Mr Naylor's powerful Ford Falcon car had crossed two lanes of the highway, before slamming into a street lamp.
Two unnamed girls, aged 16 and 17, who were also travelling in their car survived, but required emergency surgery in hospital.
