The hunt for a newlywed husband who vanished following the discovery of his wife's body at their Cheshire home ended with his arrest in North Wales.
Michael Roberts, 26, was being quizzed by detectives over the murder of his wife Vicky whose body was found in the garage of their home in Runcorn.
Roberts was detained in Wrexham, by police acting on a tip-off after a member of the public who had identified him from photographs published in the media.
Vicky Roberts, 25, had been strangled and her body left in the garage of the couple's home on the newly-built Swan's Reach estate last Thursday night.
Police had first been alerted by Vicky's father when he became suspicious that she was out of contact.
Police arrived at the couple's home and when Vicky's remains were found he ran off and remained on the run until he was aprehended on Sunday.
A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: "Following police inquiries a 26-year-old man has been arrested in Wrexham and police appeals for Michael Roberts are now cancelled."
