Schoolpals offer prayers for Liverpool dog attack victim John-Paul

The headteacher at the school where dog attack victim John-Paul Massey was a pupil, paid a heartfelt tribute to the boy.

John-Paul, 4, died at a family address in Ash Grove, Wavertree, in the early hours of Monday morning.

Michael Hennessey, of St Clare's RC Primary School todl of the "friendly, cheerful little boy who was bright and enthusiastic in everything he did."

John-Paul joined the school nursery in September and had proved very popular with his classmates during his short time there.

Mr Hennessey said: "He will be very sadly missed, and the thoughts of everyone at the school are with his family.

"We broke the news to our children first thing this morning during assembly, and they joined in with prayers for John-Paul and his family."

Staff at the school are now working closely with the young pupils to try and help them understand the devastating news.
