Beatles fans and relatives of servicemen are invited to record their thoughts on war for a memorial programme on a special John Lennon multi-media Tour bus at the Betsy Hotel in Miami.
Click Liverpool news has joined forces with the Betsy Hotel to call for letters and memories sent to loved ones from any war to form part of a the commemorative project on November 11.
To honour that history, The Betsy will host the state of the art John Lennon Educational Tour Bus and its traveling multimedia recording studio and record thousands of war stories.
The aim of the project create a heartfelt and resonant documentary featuring letters, videos, poems, photos, songs and stories that reflect on the timeless service and sacrifice made by soldiers and their families.
Situated on Ocean Drive, the hotel boasts a long and storied history on Miami Beach. Akin with her neighbours, she played home to soldiers as part of the Northern Command during World War II.
The Betsy invites everyone to honour veterans from any war by sharing personal memories and experiences.
You could include war letters sent or received, through poetry written on a lonely night when thinking about a loved one, by sharing pictures and images of soldier’s service.
The Lennon Bus will be collecting the memories for eight days as part of an emerging philanthropy program at The Betsy-South Beach, first with visits to schools, community centers, and Veterans organizations.
The program concludes in a three-day stay (Nov 7 – 9) on the beach, at 14th and Ocean Drive, in front of The Betsy, where the multi-media specialists from the Lennon Bus will record collected information and stories.
The project will culminate in a premiere of a documentary entitled, Revisiting History: Honoring Soldiers and their Families, on Veterans Day, Wednesday Nov, 11, at The Betsy on South Beach.
The documentary will also be downloadable, free-of-charge, at www.lennonbus.org or www.thebetsyhotel.com.
