
A woman teacher accused of sexual misconduct with a sixth form pupil is to face a crown court charged with breaching a position of trust.
Classics teacher Hannah McIntyre, 24, was suspended from duty at Merchant Taylors' Boys School, in Crosby, Merseyside, after it was alleged she had engaged in sexual activity.
McIntyre, of Stanley Road, Crosby, smiled as she appeared in the dock at South Sefton Magistrates Court, Bootle, wearing in a black top, black trousers and a pink overcoat.
Appearing before a bench of three magistrates, blonde-haired McIntyre spoke only to confirm her name and address in a five minute hearing.
She had entered 'Not Guilty' plea at an earlier hearing to the charge of abuse of position of trust and sexual activity with a child under section 16 of the Sexual Offences Act.
She was arrested in January on suspicion of engaging in sexual activity with sixth-formers away from the premises of the #8,000-a-year school.
The offence of is alleged to have taken place outside school hours about a year earlier.
Although sixth-form students are above the age of consent, it is a criminal offence for teachers to engage in sexual activity with them because of the 'position of trust'.
Merchant Taylors', which was founded in 1620, has 630 pupils, including 150 sixth-formers.

McIntyre was committed for trial at Liverpool Crown Court 17th November and her conditional bail was renewed.
A Section 39 order was also renewed, banning the identification of any child involved in the case.
