
Following the release of Liverpool fan Michael Shields, his father is calling for a public inquiry into the handling of the case.
Michael Shields snr is also calling on the British government to initiate high-level talks with ministers from the newly-elected Bulgarian government to get the case re-opened in that country.
Window cleaner Mr Shields said: "There should be a public inquiry. Our government should press the Bulgarian government to re-open the case to bring the the real culprit to justice.
"They know who the real culprit is and he should be made to stand in court and face a trail for what he did."
