Former pop star Kerry Katona has been sacked as the face of Iceland's advertising campaigns, after News of the World allegations that the former Atomic Kitten is addicted to the Class A drug Cocaine.

Liverpool-born Katona, 28, has featured in adverts for the supermarket chain for four years, after being crowned Queen of the Jungle by ITV's reality series "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here".

However, following allegations in the Sunday newspaper that Ms Katona was caught on camera taking cocaine in her bathroom, a spokesperson for Iceland said it would be "impossible" for her to continue in the role.

Iceland said; "For the most part, Kerry has been a successful part of our advertising campaigns, but she has also been through some tough times in her personal life,

"We have always stood by her, as an example of a normal person and a mum who has experienced some of the modern-day culture of fame, and how difficult it can be to deal with.

"However, following the most recent allegations, we feel it is impossible for Kerry to continue to work with us as one of the faces of Iceland advertising."

The allegations are the latest in a string of controversies surrounding the singer, after she appeared drunk on TV breakfast show This Morning in 2008.

Katona, who was formerly married to Westlife star Brian McFadden, blamed the TV embarassment on prescription drugs. However the incident prompted her then publicist, Max Clifford, to question her state of health, and he ceased to represent her shortly afterwards.

Ms Katona denies the latest set of allegations.
