The man punched in the face by England footballer Steven Gerrard has come out of his corner to proclaim that his business is booming.

As this picture shows Marcus McGee is grinning like a Cheshire Cat with a full set of teeth despite reports that he lost one in the notorious bar-room brawl.

Marcus has launched a PR campaign to cash in on his new-found fame and to promote his double-glazing repair business.

And Marcus, 34, even claims his firm 'Cloudy2Clear Windows' has seen a huge boost in its profits since the beating he suffered at the hands of Gerrard's six pals.

In a publicity blurb Marcus says his company - which has been trading for three years - has increased its turnover in 2009 by 32 per cent compared to the same period in 2008.

In his first public statement since the bust-up at the Lounge Inn in Southport on 29th December 2008, Marcus claims to have 15,000 satisfied customers.

His firm repairs failed or misted double glazing units and he claims it is growing fast through a franchising operation.

Father-of-two Marcus says: "Cloudy2Clear began in 2004 as a local business with a good idea and an even better product.

"Since the inception, Cloudy2Clear has answered over 15,000 customer enquires and either fitted or replaced over 19,500 windows.

"Our increase in customer base and revenue is exponential to the increase in area coverage.

"The increase in areas covered comes from our continuous efforts and successes in signing-up new franchise operators for Cloudy2Clear.

"We currently have 23 zones covered and have identified a further 12 franchisee areas which we hope to sign-up by year's end 2009.

"It is our target to achieve full national coverage by the end of 2011."

Despite his upbeat promotion it has been reported that Marcus is under round-the-clock police protection after receiving death threats following the brawl involving Gerrard.

He has been "unavailable" or "away on business" to any callers who have contacted his company offices in Southport.

Cloudy2clear marketing director Martin Waite refused to comment about his business partner but said: "Everyone in the company is just looking forward to the future.

"It is fantastic that we performing so well especially in the current climate."

*Six men who were with Steven Gerrard during the nightclub brawl have been given suspended prison sentences. Five pleaded guilty to affray while a sixth admitted threatening behaviour.
