Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney has admitted he wakes up every morning with a "tinge of sadness" after the death of his first wife Linda.
In a rare glimpse into his personal life, Sir Paul admitted focusing on the good times he and Linda had helps him deal with the heartache.
Sir Paul said: "I don't wake up every day with a hole in my heart, but there's a tinge of sadness.
"I mean how do you cope with losing those close to you? I've lost both my parents, lost George, lost John, lost Linda.
"All I tend to do is remember the great stuff and that helps."
And the world's most succesful recording artist reckons he is loving the challenge of bringing up a child at the age of 66.
The music icon calls himself a "hands-on" dad and despite his busy schedule, spends his days doing the school run for daughter Beatrice.
He added: "I love being a dad.
"My typical morning these days would be to get up at 6:30am, make breakfast, get Beatrice up, get her dressed and watch some TV.
"I don't have a nanny I do all the regular stuff myself.
"I take her to school, talk to all the mums, talk to the teacher then pick her up from school.
"I love every second of it and I'm not exhausted at all.
"People say, I'm up at 6:30am, what is going on? But I genuinely love it.
"It's a thrill bringing up a young kid, it's such an education.
"I am a different dad now but it's good."
