An enquiry is underway after a Liverpool factory worker was crushed to death at the Jaguar Land Rover plant.

Dad-of-two Graham Begley tragically died following an industrial accident in the pressing room of the Halewood factory on Monday night.

The 49-year-old suffered serious injuries during an incident inside the factory shortly after 8pm.

He was taken to Whiston Hospital for emergency treatment but died shortly after 10pm.

A joint investigation by Merseyside Police and the Health and Safety Executive into his death has been launched.

A Home Office post mortem examination is being carried out this afternoon to establish a cause of death.

A police spokesman said: "The scene was cordoned off and an investigation into how the victim, who was a worker at the site, was fatally injured is now under way.

"No-one else was injured during the incident."
