One of the killers of teenager Anthony Walker has written to his mother to apologise after racist abuse was posted on his Facebook page.

Paul Taylor penned the note to Gee Walker, explaining that he was not the author of the vile comments that appeared on his Facebook profile in August.

Gee said Taylor, 26, declared in his letter that "I know you have suffered enough and I don't want to bring you any more pain."

The Home Office closed down Taylor's illicit Facebook page in August which he had secretly run under his nickname "Chomper" - reference to his due to his big teeth

His Facebook profile used the same bigoted language that was used to taunt Anthony in the moments before his death, casually using the of the racist word n*****.

In the letter the Gee Walker, following media publicity about the Facebook page Taylor, also offered to meet her.

Gee today said that she was actively considering the offer but was "not ready" to meet Taylor and said that she had been upset by the Facebook incident.

Added Gee: "Only God only knows [when I will be], but I'm sure my heart will tell me when the time is right."

The revelations come in a BBC TV interview with Gordon Burns to be broadcast today (TUES).

Paul Taylor and Michael Barton were jailed for life in 2005 for the racist murder of Anthony Walker in Huyton, Merseyside.

Gee said: "He wrote to apologise and say that it wasn't him that post the racist remarks."

Gee, who is a devout Christian has said that she has forgiven Taylor and Barton on behalf of Anthony.

But she said that she continues to grieve the loss of her son.

Gee said: "There is a proverb that says time is a great healer but it's not true.

"The healing process is slow, very slow, and the pain is still there.

"There are gaps and the gaps are wider, but when the pain hits you, it is like it could have been yesterday."

Gee has said in the past that she would be prepared to meet her son's killers at some future stage in order to bring closure and obtain the replies to unanswered questions.
