Under-fire Labour Wavertree election candidate Luciana Berger has been criticised after she failed to turn up at a business lunch.
Miss Berger, along with her fellow Parliamentary hopefuls, was asked to meet entrepreneurs at Business Network Liverpool's (BNL's) monthly event on Tuesday.
It was hoped she would tell the audience what she could offer the area and city firms if elected on 6 May.
But BNL founder Len Rainford said he could not contact Miss Berger, 28, who hails from London.
He said: "We had absolutely no response from Miss Berger even though we had emailed an invitation and followed up with a call to the Labour Party's North West office.
"I have no idea why she did not come because the representatives of the other major parties were grateful for the opportunity to address our members."
One Network member added: "It looks like we've been snubbed by Labour which is really sad because if they get in power again they'll need all the help they can from businesses."
Liberal Democrat candidate Colin Eldridge said he wants banks to begin lending to firms again.
And Conservative Dr Kegang Wu called for his party to assist the private sector in Liverpool.
The Londoner caused controversy earlier this year when she could not answer questions on who Bill Shankly was or how many Mersey tunnels there are.
In protest, actor Ricky Tomlinson considered running for the seat but pulled out this month due to "personal commitments".
