
A "feral teenager" killed a man by torching his home just hours after being freed from jail.
Evil Liam O'Brien 18, outraged his victim's family by LAUGHING as he made a court appearance to answer the charges.
O'Brien admits the manslaughter of Ryan Dugdale, 21, and will be sentenced for that crime next month along with other charges including race hate and drug possession.
Liverpool Crown Court heard how O'Brien stole plasma TVs and set the living room alight, escaping as fire ripped through the Dugdale family home in the city's Anfield district.
Joiner Ryan who was asleep upstairs at the semi-detached property in Hilary Close was killed by smoke and fumes from the fire that gutted the living room.
As a judge warned O'Brien he faces a long jail term it emerged that 24 hours before the killing he had walked free from jail after serving a sentence for breaching an ASBO.
The dead man's family branded O'Brien "pure evil" and condemned failings in the justice system.
Ryan's father Mark, 50, said tt was difficult to see O'Brien sitting in court on the video screen laughing like he did not have a care in the world.
He also revealed that the killer had just got out of prison when he killed Ryan.
Appearing in court via video link from HMP Altcourse, O’Brien, of Hildebrand Road, Anfield, admitted manslaughter, arson, being reckless as to whether life was endangered, and burglary.
He also admitted a further burglary on March 26 in Anfield, causing racially aggravated fear, alarm or distress on May 20, and two counts of possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply on November 9.
The Recorder of Liverpool, Judge Henry Globe QC, told him he would face a lengthy custodial sentence. O'Brien will be sentence on 29th October.
