The mother of missing Madeleine McCann says she prays for her daughter's abductors.
In a Mother's Day interview, Liverpool-born Kate McCann also revealed how her belief in God has gave her an "inner strength" to deal with being made a suspect in Maddie's disappearance.
Speaking about her Roman Catholic faith on BBC Radio 2, Kate, 42, said: "I pray for lots of things now. Obviously I always pray for the family, obviously most of the prayers are centred on Madeleine.
"But I pray for the people who have taken Madeleine, the people who know what's happened to Madeleine and the people around and related to the person who's taken Madeleine."
Maddie was nearly four when she disappeared from the family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on 3rd May 2007.
Kate and her fellow GP husband Gerry were named suspects, or'arguidos', shortly after she was abducted.
She continued: "The day I was going in for my arguido interview was quite a strange day because I had been really low and feeling quite weak and fragile.
"Then suddenly I just felt really angry that people hadn't been looking for Madeleine. But I just thought to myself 'I know the truth and God knows the truth, and nothing else matters.' And I just felt really strong from there, I felt a real inner strength."
The couple, who are also parents to five-year-old twins Sean and Amelie joined over 400 runners in London's Hyde Park on Saturday for the first 'Miles for Missing People' 10K.
