
A man suffered injuries in an explosion in a house in Stockbridge Village in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 14 March).
Officers were called to the house in Hollow Croft at 1.50am following a report of criminal damage, but on arrival it was apparent that there had been some sort of explosion.
The man, who did not receive serious injuries, was treated at hospital but has already been discharged. Extensive damage was caused to the house.
Merseyside Police confirmed the cause of the explosion remains unclear at this stage, but officers are treating the incident as suspicious.
The scene was sealed for forensic examination, and house to house enquiries are being carried out.
