Prince Edward has visited a Merseyside hospice.
The royal spent yesterday afternoon looking around the facilities and talking to patients at Woodlands Hospice in Fazakerley.
Edward - the Earl of Wessex - was given a guided tour by Woodlands Charitable Trust Chairman Ken Hoskisson.
He said: "He was able to spend so much time meeting and chatting to staff and volunteers who make up Woodlands."
The prince was shown the hospice's new 15-bed inpatient unit, which has been open since last summer.
Woodlands is based in Aintree Hospital and cares for people with incurable diseases.
It sees about 100 outpatients each week.
