Liverpool’s Hard Day's Night Hotel was forced to evacuate guests when a leaking pipe flooded the basement.
Firemen were called to the four star Beatles themed hotel on North John Street at around 2.15pm on Monday following report of water damaging electrical systems.
Guests were cleared out of the 110-bedroom grade II listed building for safety reasons as electricity technicians arrived to cut off the power supply.
Watch manager Andy Burton said: "There was a leak and all the water ended up in the basement.
"It was hot water and it created steam all over the place. It was like a sauna down there.
"We had to wait for Manweb to come out and isolate the electricity so we could go in and start pumping it out without getting electrocuted.
"I asked for extra personnel to be able to get the water pumped out quicker. Three times as many pumps is three times as fast."
Three fire engines attended to pump out the excess water and ensure electrical systems had been made safe.
The Hard Day's Night Hotel is to remain closed until the 31st December, with guests aided in their relocation.
The luxury hotel's website states: "Due to a small flood in the service areas of the hotel, the Hard Days Night Hotel is currently without any power, and therefore cannot currently accept any guests.
"We are currently working with the Fire Service to ensure the hotel will re-open on the 31st December.
"We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience caused to guests who are planning to arrive at the hotel tonight and tomorrow evening. Please contact us on 0151 236 1964 if we have not already been in touch, if your reservation is for the next 2 nights only.
"We apologise to those who will be inconvenieced at this time and will work with anyone whose booking has been affected individually to reschedule their visit to the Hard Days Night Hotel.
